4K UHD captures four times as many pixels as 2K and roughly four times more than 1080P FHD. In practical Indian-road terms, this means license plates are readable from 2-3 cars further back than 2K. Faces resolve clearly from further distances. And critically, if you ever need to crop into footage to see a specific detail — a sticker on a bike, a number on a uniform, a feature of someone's face — the 4K image still has usable detail after the crop. 2K would already be soft.
Six precision-ground glass elements gather light onto the sensor with minimal distortion. The F1.8 aperture is unusually wide for the price point — most dashcams ship at F2.0 or F2.2, which lets in 40-50% less light. At night, in tunnels, or under monsoon clouds, that extra light is what keeps 4K footage usable rather than dark and grainy. The 6-element optical formula also resolves at the level of detail the 4K sensor can actually distinguish — there's no point pairing a high-resolution sensor with a soft lens, and we don't.
The rear camera records at 1080P FHD — not 4K. This is intentional. The rear view's job is to document what happened behind you (rear-end collisions, tailgaters, reversing incidents), which 1080P captures with plenty of detail. Pairing a 4K rear with a 4K front would double storage requirements and shorten loop-recording duration without adding meaningful value. Most dashcam buyers we asked confirmed: the front view is where 4K matters; the rear view is fine at 1080P.
The 4K's screen is intentionally 1.5 inches — smaller than the 2K's 2.0-inch screen. This is a design choice: the smaller screen lets the unit have a lower profile on your windscreen, less obstructing the driver's view. Most users interact with the dashcam through the companion app over Wi-Fi anyway, so the physical screen is for status checks, basic playback, and on-device settings. The result: a sleeker form factor that disappears into the windscreen better than the 2K. Premium without showing off.

No. The rear camera is 1080P FHD. This is deliberate — the rear camera primarily documents what happened behind you, so 1080P is sufficient and keeps storage and power requirements reasonable. The 4K resolution is reserved for the front camera where it matters most.

With a hardwire kit installed, the dashcam draws low-current standby power from your battery. The G-sensor wakes it on impact, the motion sensor wakes it on movement. Either trigger records a 30-60 second clip, locks it from being overwritten, and goes back to standby. The hardwire kit includes voltage cut-off to protect your car battery.
